WHEN TO ARRIVE AND LEAVE for the official events at THE KRAKEN? THE KRAKEN starts around 21:00 on Friday but you can check-in from 12:00 on.
Game Sign-up starts Friday 22:00. THE KRAKEN ends Monday at 11:00 after breakfast when we have to be out of the rooms.
Tip: Many people give themselves an extra day or two before or after THE KRAKEN to visit Berlin.
FLYING TO BERLIN is the fastest and easiest travelling option. There will be a
Shuttle Bus for people to
Schloss Neuhausen (and back) that are travelling via Berlin. You will receive more information about the
Shuttle Bus via Email.
IF YOU FLY IN FROM OUTSIDE THE EU it is probably cheaper to fly in to
Frankfurt International Airport and to travel on by other means than a connecting flight to Berlin. You can contact us for advice.
DRIVING to
Schloss Neuhausen takes roughly 2 hours from Berlin by car. We advise using a
GPS Navigation System as the environs of the
Schloss are very rural and you have very poor mobile reception. See the address above to feed your navigation system.
TRAVEL BY TRAIN is also an option. The closest train station to the
Schloss is
Karstädt (Prignitz) Bahnhof, from there it is about 10 km to
Schloss Neuhausen. There is a direct train connection from Berlin every 2 hours. The trip takes about to 2 hours and costs around 20,00 to 25,00 EUR.
Be advised that you won't be able to purchase return tickets at the station in Karstädt. Tickets are available from the conductor on the train, you are supposed to actively look for him/her to buy your ticket. For more information on traveling by train, consult the
Deutsche Bahn. Strangely enough there are two Karstädt in the region and they are close to each other. Make sure you have picked this train station as your destination from the search form:
Bahnhof, Karstädt (Prignitz). We will coordinate pick-ups at the train station closer to the date of THE KRAKEN.
THE PUBLIC BUS FROM KARSTÄDT is running directly from the train station in Karstädt to Neuhausen. It's bus
948 Karstädt > Berge the stop you have to get off is
Neuhausen (PR), II. If you ask nicely the driver stops directly at the Schloss for you.
