SANDY PETERSEN
aka the
Great Old One aka
The Only Old One aka
Mr. Shiny aka
Carl Sanford aka
Uncle Sandy is the original designer of the roleplaying phenomenon
Call of Cthulhu and thus played a key role in making
Cthulhu and
Lovecraft household names all around the world. Sandy is the most influential shaper of the fantasy world
Glorantha after Greg Stafford himself. He would be even more famous now if computer game had design credits printed on them.
Mr. Petersen is responsible for most of the fun you had playing
Doom, Quake and
Age of Empires. Now Sandy pursues his third-act career as board game designer, creating titles like
Cthulhu Wars,
Glorantha: The Gods War,
Planet Apocalypse,
Hyperspace
and the upcoming
Eternal Adversary with his own company
Petersen Games. Sandy is also the
Chief Creative Consultant and
Guidance Ro-Man for the legendary and indestructible publisher
Chaosium.
ROBIN D. LAWS is the acclaimed game designer of
HeroQuest,
The Yellow King Roleplaying Game,
Hillfolk and many
fine products for
Trail of Cthulhu. He also wrote our Chapbooks
Sharper Adventures in HeroQuest Glorantha and
Mother of Monsters. Robin is a writer, movie buff,
the Robin of the famous
Ken & Robin Talk about Stuff podcast, a well-travelled
and well-versed convention guest and first-class seminar speaker. He is a great GM and one of the best analytic and creative minds when it comes to narration and narrative structures in games. Just check out
Robin's Laws of Good Game Mastering,
Hamlet Hit Points or
Beating the Story. Robin is currently working on chapter two of the
Glorantha computer game
Six Ages and the all-new
Big Rubble and Pavis sourcebooks for
RuneQuest: Roleplaying in Glorantha.
KEN ROLSTON is a Bon Vivant, sage, folk singer and award-winning designer of pen-and-paper RPGs and supplements. He co-designed the 2nd edition of
PARANOIA, wrote for
RuneQuest, Ghostbusters,
Stormbringer and not to forget
Superworld, for which he created the infamous supplement
Bad Medicine for Dr. Drugs. When dinosaurs ruled the earth, Ken served as roleplaying director for
West End Games, Games Workshop and the
Avalon Hill Game Company. As a video game designer, he was lead designer for
The Elder
Scrolls classics
Morrowind and
Oblivion. During his reign as
RuneCzar, a period famously know as the
RuneQuest Renaissance, he contributed his deathless prose and peerless editorial gifts to
Sun County, River of Cradles, Shadows on the Borderland, Dorastor: Land of Doom and Strangers in Prax.
Now Ken seldom leaves his rocking chair, except when working on an exclusive KRAKEN Chapbook or to make sure
everyone is having a good time at THE KRAKEN. We are happy that he will spend his yearly
Euro-Geek-Jaunt with us again.
LYNNE HARDY discovered roleplaying games at university thanks to the Seattle Seahawks, even though she's English. The first RPG she ever played was
RuneQuest, closely followed by
Call of Cthulhu. A cheeky letter to
Wizards of the Coast got her into the gaming industry and, like a bad penny, she has refused to go away ever since. She also created her own steampunk pulp adventure game
(Cogs, Cakes and Swordsticks) while occasionally dabbling in the field of short story writing and winning awards for her work. Lynne formed part of the team responsible for
updating
Chaosium's legendary
Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign, and her modern-day
Call of Cthulhu scenario,
Scritch Scratch, was
Chaosium's 2018 contribution to
Free RPG Day. She is now working full-time for
Chaosium as
Associate Line Editor on the Call of Cthulhu RPG.
Her latest work includes the much anticipated
Berlin - The Wicked City sourcebook. When she's not beavering away at the day job, she gives talks and workshops on traditional embroidery techniques, as well as trying to work out how to write curses and other such nonsense in Middle Egyptian hieroglyphics. She has even been known to enjoy the odd cocktail or two ...
JASON DURALL got started in the RPG industry with
Chaosium, play-testing and writing a tiny bit of
Elric!
He wrote
Slaves of Fate for the ill-fated
Dragon Lords of Melnibone. He's best-known for
Basic Roleplaying and has worked on
Cthulhu/BRP-based games. Among many other RPG materials he worked on
Lords of Gossamer & Shadow deserves a special mention.
His professional career has largely been in the computer games industry, as lead worldbuilder for
Shadowbane, creative lead for
Wizard101 and
Pirate101, and lead designer on
Drakensang Online. Now a full-time writer and game developer, Jason is managing Modiphius's
Robert E Howard's Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of, and is the
Chaosium Line Editor for the
ENnie Award-winning new edition of
RuneQuest Roleplaying in Glorantha. He will be spearheading and contributing to other
Chaosium projects to come.
IAN COOPER is
Chaosium's Line Editor for
HeroQuest. A native Londoner, and a tattooed, pierced, and bearded gamer, he has been playing games for over 30 years.
After starting with
Traveller, and then long years of
D&D, a copy of
Cults of Prax began a life-long love affair with Greg Stafford's creation of
Glorantha and other games by
Chaosium. After a brief hiatus from gaming in his twenties (the 'beer is good' years) Ian returned to gaming in his thirties, energized by
Hero Wars and the new wave of story games from the indie scene. He wrote canon material for the
Sartar Rising series and was working on
Dragon Pass: Land of Thunder. He contributed to
Sartar Kingodom of Heroes, the
Sartar Companion and
HeroQuest Glorantha. Ian's proudest achievement so far is being published by
Chaosium.
Check out his epic
HeroQuest campaign set in
Sartar with
The Coming Storm and
The Eleven Lights.
