Axe Throwing & Archery

Host: Risto 'The Axe Whisperer' Welling & Peter ‘The Flying Axe’ Küsell

It sounded like a mad idea but it turned out to be a mad success. Of course we NEED more axe throwing and archery this year! After all, the target is still there and Peter ‘The Flying Axe’ Küsell, who still practices his new favorite sport, said it survived the Brandenburg winter in top condition. Risto ‘The Axe Whisperer’ Welling will teach beginners traditional axe throwing skills and archery techniques again and advanced learners can come back to hone their skills. Only sober adults are allowed to participate, of course. And yes, knowing how to throw an axe or shoot a bow will still come in handy once the Zombie Apocalypse hits. Let’s see how much Peter practiced in the meantime...


As his name suggests, there is still Danish Viking blood running through the veins of Mr. Sandy Petersen.


It is a focused but very satisfying pastime. Once you can handle the small one-handed throwing axe you add velocity and distance and then move on to the two-handed axe.


Risto 'The Axe Whisperer' Welling will professionally coach you and build up your skills to even throw AND hit with this mother of all axes.

Ancient Art of Speed Archery

In the year 1191 Saracens inflicted a massacre on Richard Lionheart's army through their superhuman speed with bow and arrow. To become a Saracen Warrior you had to shoot 3 arrows at a target within 3 seconds, which is said to be impossible! Now this long forgotten skill has been rediscovered and Risto 'The Axe Whisperer' Welling teaches this ancient technique at THE KRAKEN so that everyone can beat Legolas in shooting speed afterwards. Hopefully with some accuracy too...

Sandy's Movie Nights

Host: Sandy Petersen

A KRAKEN CLASSIC: Sandy will bring movies from his insane and weird DVD collection* to show at the KRAKEN. This time it will be 4 films but only 3 will be shown! It will be 3 good movies PLUS the (currently) worst movie of all times. Which movie will be screened each night is decided by a blind draw through the hands of a random victim in the audience. When the worst movie is not bad enough we can just default to 'Daniel der Zauberer' again. No worries, it will be entertaining as hell**.

*It contains mostly scary Horror movies, funny Horror movies, weird Horror movies, Classics (by Sandy’s definition), Must-Sees and things you never heard of. Oh yes, and unimaginable bad movies.

**Just sitting next to Sandy when he is giggling with excitement for a movie can entertain you for hours. We tested it. It is fool proofed.

Chant-Along-A-Squid!

This is our best chance to summon the Old Gods through horrible singing this year! Join all the cultists, the would-be-cultists and investigators in disguise for our Cthulhu Sing-Along to summon the Great Old Ones, the Outer Gods or whoever will listen. Chant with whatever voice you have, as long as it's loud! The end is near!


It looks nicer than it sounds. Better bring drinks.

The name says it all. Risto and his Finnish Pancakes will have competition this year! Louis Kolkman will send Dutch Pannekoeken into an epic battle of pancakes at THE KRAKEN! Who will win? And how will we decide it? Anyway more food at THE KRAKEN is always good. And then there will be cake...
