What's up, Chaosium?

Hosts: Jeff Richard, Neil Robinson & Michael 'MOB’ O'Brien

Chaosium is the beloved publisher of games close to our heart. It is also a company that is traditionally hard to kill. The stories of the near bankruptcies of Chaosium, Inc. are the stuff of legends. No other company of the founding days of our hobby has survived as long as Chaosium. Recently the Great Old Ones, Greg Stafford and Sandy Petersen, have returned to the once again troubled company, summoned to make things right. Shortly afterwards, at GenCon 2015, a new management was introduced and now Rick Meints, Jeff Richard, Neil Robinson and MOB are at the helm of Chaosium. Not only are they hurrying the Call of Cthulhu 7 publication along but they also have returned Glorantha to the Chaosium portfolio. Since Jeff, Neil and MOB are all present at THE KRAKEN we all can ask: So, what's up, Chaosium?

A New Gloranthan Dawn Age

Hosts: Jeff Richard, Neil Robinson & Michael 'MOB’ O'Brien

With Glorantha returned to Chaosium many fans are hoping for a new Dawn Age for Glorantha and they have reason for it. The Guide to Glorantha has been out for over a year, HeroQuest Glorantha was just released along with a beautiful 2nd edition of King of Sartar as hardcover, the German edition of HeroQuest was released just now (with a stunning cover by our old friend Eric Vanel), Sandy Petersen is finishing the work on his epic Glorantha board game Gods War, David Dunham has begun designing a new Glorantha computer game with the working title Six Ages and he has hired Robin D. Laws to work on it, Loz and Pete of Design Mechanism are working on RuneQuest: Adventures in Glorantha, Rob Heinsoo and Jonathan Tweet are putting the last touches to 13th Age in Glorantha, there is a weekly Glorantha webcomic called Prince of Sartar by Jeff Richard and Kalin Kadiev, Robin D. Laws wrote Sharper Adventures in HeroQuest Glorantha for us last year and we are now adding the KRAKEN Chapbook Forgotten Secrets of Glorantha by Sandy Petersen to the mix. Well, in this seminar you can find out even more and finally ask: When will 'The Coming Storm', errr, come out? When will you hire Kenneth Hite and the few other missing RPG stars to work on Glorantha? Will Rick Meints finally finish the MIG III? Will there be a new release of Dragon Pass and Nomand Gods? What is the Godlearner Secret? And when will Greg Stafford pick up the pen again?

More Forgotten Secrets of Glorantha

Host: Sandy Petersen

Oh boy, that was a mind blast. When Sandy talked about Glorantha secrets that were mostly forgotten or simply untold the few people in the Kapelle at the last KRAKEN were blown away. There is a huge 'Chaos Laboratory' in Pamaltela? And Pamaltela history is running backwards? The EWF tried to create the World Dragon? The trolls have a second secret plan besides plugging Magsta's Pool with a chunk of the Glacier? For all who missed this amazing event — fear not: the transcript will become the new KRAKEN Chapbook. Now Sandy returns with another list of secrets and anecdotes, pure Gloranthan Gold that is only stored in his and Greg's brain. Well, maybe only stored in his brain. And yes, this time we will REALLY ask him about the Godlearner Secret and not forget. And he won't tell us. Or worse: he will.

Eine Einführung in HeroQuest

Moderator: Robin Mitra

Chaosium Tales

Hosts: Sandy Petersen & Ken Rolston

Chaosium is not only one of the most treasured and admired publishers of games but also a place where you find a rich history of great humor, weird coincidences, memorable scenes, priceless anecdotes, strange rituals, historic moments and awesome stories. You can’t talk to one of Chaosium’s staffers without hearing a story that makes you laugh so hard that your sombrero falls off and you drop your taco. To start things off just ask Ken about 'Bad Medicine for Dr. Drugs' and Greg Stafford’s prank at this one convention...
